Development of novel low-mass module concepts based on MALTA monolithic pixel sensors

چکیده
The MALTA CMOS monolithic silicon pixel sensors has been developed in the Tower 180 nm imaging process. It includes an asynchronous readout scheme and complies with ATLAS inner tracker requirements for HL-LHC. Several 4-chip modules have built using Al wedge wire bonding to demonstrate direct transfer of data from chip-to-chip read out entire module via one chip only. Novel technologies such as Anisotropic Conductive Films (ACF) nanowires investigated build a compact module. A lightweight flex 17 {\mu}m trace spacing designed, allowing packaging attachment connection pads these interconnection technologies. This contribution shows current state our work towards flexible, low material, dense reliable modularization detectors.

Recent progresses in the development of Monolithic Active Pixel Sensors
Introduction The ambitious physics goals of the CBM experiment call for unprecedented performances of its vertex detector, as well in terms of spatial resolution and material budget as for read-out speed and radiation hardness. Monolithic Active Pixel Sensors (MAPS) are considered as candidates for this application as they already demonstrated an excellent spatial resolution (~1.5 μm) and a low...
متن کاملRadiation hardness studies on Monolithic Active Pixel Sensors
CMOS Monolithic Active Pixel Sensors (MAPS) form a promising sensor technology for the micro vertex detector (MVD) of the Compressed Baryonic Matter (CBM) experiment. The technology allows for building very thin (∼ 50 μm) detectors with a spatial resolution of few μm and a satisfactory time resolution of 10 μs. It is expected that within one run of CBM, the MVD will be exposed to a radiation do...
متن کاملCMOS Monolithic Active Pixel Sensors (MAPS) for future vertex detectors
This paper reviews the development of CMOS Monolithic Active Pixel Sensors (MAPS) for future vertex detectors. MAPS are developed in a standard CMOS technology. In the imaging field, where the technology found its first applications, they are also known as CMOS Image Sensors. The use of MAPS as a detector for particle physics was first proposed at the end of 1999. Since then, their good perform...
متن کاملMonolithic Active Pixel Sensors for High Resolution Vertex Detectors
A novel Monolithic Active Pixel Sensor (MAPS) for charged particle tracking is presented. The partially depleted thin epitaxial layer of a low-resistivity silicon wafer is used as a sensitive detector volume from which the charge liberated by ionising particles is collected by diffusion. The sensor is a photodiode within a special structure allowing the high detection efficiency required for tr...
